World's Top 25 Universities 2012

QS World University Rankings issue a list of the world's best universities for 2012. This year, pemuncak held by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of the United States, which shifts the University of Cambridge, England, to the number two position.

Last year, MIT just sit in third position, a position now occupied by the University of Harvard, USA. Superiority universities from the U.S. and the UK is so pronounced, that dominated the top 25 universities of the two countries.


Universities from outside the two countries have the highest was in position 13 is ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) from Switzerland. Then on No. 18 and 19, there are two universities of Canada, McGill University and the University of Toronto.

While the universities of Asia's most high is the University of Hong Kong who is at number 23. Then in the top 24, Australian National University, and 25, National University of Singapore (NUS).

There are six indicators used to determine the ranking of the 40 percent of the university's academic reputation is found based on a global survey, 10 percent of the reputation of teachers, 20 percent of scientific citations per faculty, 20 percent of students in the faculty ratios, 5 percent the proportion of international students and 5 percent more, proportion of international faculty.

There are five areas of study of the arts and humanities, engineering and technology, natural sciences and medicine, science, and social sciences and management.
